From Summer to Fall

Poets, songwriters, and storytellers alike often relate the blossoms of Spring with earthly renaissance. The opalescent teal of a cumulus sky, parted at the horizon, giving way to verdant emerald flora.
Prairie Sun Recording Studio, Sonoma County.
If Spring is a painting, presenting itself fully, then Fall is a novel; its secrets buried beneath a cover; a dry soil waiting for the waters of our mind to penetrate its deepest layers. The sown seeds, ripe fruit falling from the trees, true signs of renewal. The farmer knows the spectacles of Spring are just a charade, masking the labors of Fall and Winter; seeds gestating, fauna hybernating, beginning the cycle anew.

Here at Prairie Sun we are excited for this renewal. The Fall is bringing many exciting sessions and artists to our neck of the woods, and we can’t wait! We are getting ahead of ourselves though.

Summer proved to be a creatively fruitful season for us.

• Sonoma grown reggae from the likes of Groundation, and IrieFuse.
• Low Cut Connie from Philly, PA, lauded by Elton John as his favorite new band.
• One of our favorites John Trubee came in to mix his latest with house engineer Nate Nauseda.
• Heavy hitting local rockers Aftertayst and Refract have been wrapping up their albums with Sonoma’s own audio Wizard, Producer/Engineer Matt Wright.

To top it all off Josh Klinghoffer, of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, brought in a crack team, including drummer Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam), and Producer/Engineer Eric Palmquist (The Mars Volta, Thrice, Chon), to spend a week tracking in Studio C.

Stay tuned to our blog and social media for video links, and session stories.
