C offers the Artist a lower-cost alternative without compromising the
quality of the recording. Studio C houses a number of acoustic environments
including the famous Live Chambers (The Corn Room, and The
Waits Room). The main tracking area houses a beautiful Neve 8026
Mixing Disk featuring twenty-four 1073 Mic Preamp/ Eq modules, and a
Studer A80 2" tape machine with either 16 or 24 track heads. Studio
C also features a 24in/24out
ProTools HD system and a Furman
HDS16 headphone system. The Corn Room, the larger of the two
chambers, has it's own Kimball 7ft Grand piano, a design based on a
Bosendorfer grand. The Waits Room is most notable for the two Grammy
award winning albums (Mule Variations and Bone Machine) recorded in
that room by Sonoma County legend Tom Waits.
With this chamber Tom was able to create the raw, folksy acoustic sound
for which the albums are known.
