Mooka grew up in a small town in Northern Illinois and
had the privilege to know one Richard Clinebell. Besides being
an amazing musician and a leading prairie ecologist, Richard
was for Mooka a friend, mentor, and inspiration. Richard passed
this last winter at age 59 and is deeply missed. While visiting
the Midwest recently Mooka had the opportunity to purchase
Richard’s first guitar from his college professor in
Western Illinois. This guitar is also currently in the care
of the skilled Frankie Monturo.
